Activities
Student life at Dorothy Pullen is fun and exciting for all grade levels. The following is a list of just a few of the great activities that students can look forward to at Pullen:
- Spirit Days-On Fridays, staff and students are encouraged to wear their Pullen shirts to show their Pullen Pride
- Hat Days-Fridays students and staff pay .50 cents to wear a hat. Proceeds support the 5th grade camp field trip.
- Field Trips-Each year, students take a grade level field trip.
- PTA Family Nights (S.T.E.A.M., Movie, Fine Arts Night) - Join us for evenings filled with learning, fun and fellowship!
- Grandparent Lunch Day- Grandparents are invited to lunch with their grandchild and visit the book fair in September.
- Dad Lunch Day-Dads are invited to join their student for lunch and then visit the book fair in February.
- Mom Lunch Day-Moms are invited to join their student for lunch and then visit the book fair in May.
- Field Day-Students take part in a variety of fun fitness activities outdoors in the spring and maybe some friendly competition.
- Book Fair Weeks-Book fairs are held in September, February and April/May.

- Welcome Back to School Events
- Morning Enrichment Clubs-Held each morning from 7:15 am to 7:45 am
Students in grades second through sixth can also participate in a variety of academic competitions, such as:
- Battle of the Books– Sponsored by Karen Meno & Shannon Wilcox (grades 3 & 4) and Karen Meno (grades 5 & 6). For more information visit the library webpage.
- UIL Competition- Sponsored by various staff members.
- Spelling Bee- Sponsored by Courtney Bridges
- Robotics- Sponsored by Julie Woodard
Dorothy Smith Pullen Elementary has many opportunities for students to grow in leadership and to participate in a variety of clubs.
